Recently, someone asked us which of our feeds sold the most. Since you asked, and since we wouldn’t want to be outdone by the folks at the New York Times, we thought it would be cool to have a Reedy Fork Farm bestseller list.
So here it is – straight from our fork to yours…
The Reedy Fork Farm Bestselling Feed List
5. Goat Feed Goats have a reputation for eating anything, but in reality they can be very finicky. But goats love our organic goat feed! How much milk your nanny goat yields varies, but with our feed, you’ll be rewarded with approximately one quart to one gallon of milk – and sometimes even more!
4. Broiler Grower Feed A lot of science and experience goes into our feed, and the proof is in the delicious chickens! Fun fact – the average broiler will eat approximately 25lbs of feed in its life time.
3. Layer Feed It’s amazing the difference that a good quality feed can make in the look and the taste of eggs! Convert your layer chickens to layer feed when they are 16-17 weeks old or when you see the first egg.
2. Pullet Feed A pullet is a young chicken that’s not a chick but isn’t full grown – sort of like a teenager without the attitude. When a chick turns 9 weeks old, it’s time for our pullet feed. The pullets stay on it until they begin laying.
And number 1. Starter Feed. This is the time of year when lots of families get new chicks. And more and more families are giving their new flock Reedy Fork Farm Organic Starter Feed. Layer chicks should be fed our organic feed for the first 8 weeks. Broiler chicks should eat our organic feed for the first 3 weeks of their lives.
Of course we sell lots of different organic feeds – for cows, horses, pigs, sheep, and – believe it or not – camels! We’ll be telling you more about that soon!
Until then – what’s your favorite feed – and why? Tell us about it on our Facebook page!"
